

He is survived by his loving wife of 31 years, Gayle (Novitsky) Hood, and his two sons, Matthew and Jacob Hood, both of Ann Arbor of whom he was immensely proud. He is also survived by several cousins.
Born in Huntington WV, he was the only child of Harold and Norma Hood of Charleston, WV, both deceased.
He grew up in Charleston, WV and attended West Virginia University, where he studied broadcast journalism and played in the Mountaineer marching band.
He owned Tronix stores in West Virginia, where he sold electronics, music, and movies. He later became a realtor. Upon moving to Michigan, he continued his real estate career before returning to retail electronic sales.
Mike had a one-of-a-kind personality and a unique sense of humor. He loved playing and watching volleyball and performing in musical theater. He also had a passion for watching basketball, especially the Spartans of MSU, the UK Wildcats, and the NBA.
He was a member of the International Plastic Modelers Society, building model airplanes from the WWII era, many of which won awards.
A visitation will he held on Saturday, June 21, 2025, beginning at 3 PM until the memorial service at 5 PM at the Gorsline Runciman Funeral Home - DeWitt Chapel, 205 E. Washington Street, DeWitt.
