Patricia Marie Newcombe

Pat retired after more than 20 years of dedicated service to Michigan State University, where she worked in the admissions department. Her pride in MSU extended well beyond her career - she loved all MSU sports and was, in every sense, a "Spartan for Life.”

A lifelong member of the Woodview Church of Nazarene, Pat held her faith close and took special pride in the church’s history within her family, grateful that her father helped build the Church in Lansing. Her steady devotion was matched by a generous spirit; she cared deeply for others, prayed faithfully for many, and was fondly known as a prayer warrior whose kindness reached far beyond her immediate circle.

Pat also found joy in life’s simple pleasures and everyday adventures, including being an avid garage sale goer - always ready to browse, discover, and delight in what might be found.

Pat is survived by her dear children, Troy (Jill) Newcombe, Rick (Kate) Newcombe, and the late Gary Newcombe; her treasured grandchildren, Ryleigh (Reed) VandenBroeke and Jameson (Morgan) Newcombe; and her cherished great-grandchildren, Gemma VandenBroeke and Charlie VandenBroeke. She is also survived by her brother, Ronald (Debbie) Kindel and her nephews Ben and Alex, and was preceded in death by her twin sister, the late Pauline Leslie Kindel.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 9, 2026, between the hours of 3 PM until 7 PM at the DeWitt Chapel of the Gorsline Runciman Funeral Home, 205 E. Washington Street, DeWitt, MI 48820.

The funeral service will be held on Thursday, September 10, 2026, at 11 AM at Woodview Church of Nazarene, 1500 E. State Road, Lansing, MI 48906. The family will greet friends beginning at 10 AM until the service, with a luncheon following the service.

Interment will be held on Friday, September 11, 2026, at 11 AM at North Star Cemetery, 3352 E. Johnson Road, Ithaca, MI 48847.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations in Pat’s honor be directed to the Spina Bifida Association or Woodview Church of Nazarene (please find links below).
