

Phyllis Daggy was born in Lansing, MI to Robert and Lucile Serrels on November 2, 1942. Phyllis was a lifelong resident of DeWitt graduating from DeWitt High School in 1960. She married Thomas Daggy June 2, 1960. Together they had three children, Coreena, Chris, and Chad. Phyllis was a bookkeeper for most of her working career. She worked as head bookkeeper for Meijer for 35 years. She retired from Meijer and then served as the elected DeWitt Township Treasurer for 18 years, retiring in 2018.
Phyllis was honest, kindhearted, and fun-loving. She was always looking to have fun and enjoy life. She enjoyed spending time with the family up on their property in Boyne cruising around the lake in her cris craft, family vacations, taking spontaneous road trips with friends and family sometimes never knowing where you might end up, and following her favorite local musicians for a night of music and laughs. Phyllis, also known as Phid or Phiddy to her classmates, sisters, brothers, nieces, and nephews, will truly be missed by everyone who knew her. She was one of a kind in her spirit, love of life, and generosity.
Phyllis was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Patricia Dunn, Shirley Miller, Roberta Phelps, Beverly Graham, and Barbara Walter; brothers, Robert Serrels and Raymond Serrels; former husband, Thomas Daggy; great grandson, Caine Collins; and her beloved dog and close companion, Ginger.
Surviving are her children, Coreena (Doug) Spitzley, Chris (Angela Lentz) Daggy, Chad (Stephanie) Daggy; brother, Roland (Gwen) Serrels; grandchildren, Bryce Spitzley, Brandon (Jessica) Spitzley, Nicole (Jack) Sanders, Alexis Daggy, Payton Shinaberry, Dakota Daggy, Victoria Daggy; and 10 great grandchildren.
Memorial service for Phyllis will take place at 11:00 am Saturday, January 24, 2026, at Gorsline Runciman Funeral Homes, 205 E. Washington, DeWitt with visitation one hour prior to the service beginning at 10:00 am.
