Rex Martin Wood

DeWitt

Born May 29, 1926 in Davison, MI to Herbert and Effie (Bryan) Wood, died September 10, 2012. Rex was a construction time keeper and retired from Christman Construction after many years of service. He was a volunteer with the American Red Cross and a member of the Catholic Community of St. Jude. Rex loved fishing, traveling to Florida and dancing.

He was preceded in death by his son, Mark Wood. Surviving is his wife, Dorothy, of 63 years; daughters, Melody (Ken) Bliesener, Brenda (Ken) Lowe and Michelle Wood; son Brian (Sandi) Wood; seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Friday, September 14, 2012, 10:00 a.m. at Gorsline Runciman Funeral Homes, DeWitt, MI, with Rev. Dwight Ezop officiating. Interment will be at the DeWitt Cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday, September 13, 6-8 pm at the funeral home with the Rosary being prayed at 7:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Red Cross, Mid-Michigan Chapter, 1800 E. Grand River Ave., P. O. Box 30101, Lansing, MI, 48909-7601 or Capital Area Humane Society, 7095 West Grand River Avenue, Lansing, MI 48906 in memory of Rex.
