Born on July 5, 1941, in St. Johns, Michigan, Richard lived a life marked by dedication to his work, passion for his hobbies, and deep connections with those around him. He retired from General Motors after 20 years of service at the Fisher Body and Fiero Plants, where he was known for his commitment and reliability.
Beyond his professional life, Richard was an avid train enthusiast and collector. His love for trains extended into his community involvement as a volunteer with Project 225 in Owosso, where he shared his knowledge and enthusiasm with others who shared his passion.
Richard is survived by his longtime companion Janice Lagness; beloved children Debra Brown, Marie (the late Michael) Emerick, Charlotte (Joe) Banas, and Rick (Michelle) Witt; twelve cherished grandchildren; twenty-three great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his two sisters, Paula (Bill) Swain and Sheila Brock.
A private graveside service will be held at Pleasant Hill Cemetery, 14480 Webster Rd., Bath, MI 48808.
