He graduated from DeWitt High School in 1960.
In 1969 Robert would marry Shirley (Lang) Henning. Robert worked for Motor Wheel for 31 years and owned - operated his landscaping company Shades of Summer for 21 years. Robert will be remembered for his strong love and devotion to his family and his devotion to his faith after 26 years of attendance and serving as Deacon at South Riley Bible Church. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Shirley; son, Kevin (Marcie Anderson) Henning; daughter, Deborah (James) McNeeley; his loving grandchildren, Alexander McNeeley, Paige Henning, Karly Henning, Zachary McNeeley; brother and sisters, Donovan Henning, Joann Higbie and Jill Albert; and many loving nieces and nephews
Robert is proceeded in death by his parents, Leo and Gilberta Henning; his brother-in-law Keith Higbie; and his sister Betty Taylor, and his granddaughter, Allison McNeeley .
Visitation and Service will take place Monday, August 16, 2021 at Gorsline Runciman Funeral Home – Dewitt Chapel, 205 East Washington St, Dewitt, Michigan 48820 with Service starting at 11am and Visitation one hour prior at 10am. Burial will take place at Dewitt City Cemetery following services.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to be made to South Riley Bible Church.
