Robert J. Meyers Jr.

Robert married Rosetta Dumont, and they spent the last 63 years together, raising their six children and spoiling 15 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

Robert was a hard worker. He retired from Fisher Body in the 1980’s and worked as a Bath Charter Township Firefighter for more than 20 years, retiring as Fire Chief. He got a kick out of his retirement gift, a pitchfork. This proved he would continue working with his goats, chickens, rabbits and dogs, and he still has that pitchfork to this day. In his spare time, Robert loved to hunt, fish, and spend time with his family. He was greatly loved and will be missed by all.

Robert is preceded in death by his son, Rodney Lee Meyers; sister, Edith Carter; brother, Martin Meyers; and grandson, Leland James Meyers. Surviving to cherish his memory are wife, Rosetta; daughters, Sarah (Mark) Loomis of Bath, MI, Rose (Ed) Brisco of Pompano Beach, FL, Bonnie (Steven Potter) Meyers of Lansing, MI; sons, Robert (Paula) Meyers of Morrice, MI, Roger Meyers of Moody, TX, Charles (Lisa) Meyers of Moody, TX; brother, Ed (Kathy) Meyers of Robinson, IL; and his many grandchildren and great grandchildren.

A Memorial Service celebrating Robert’s life will be held Tuesday April 19, 2016 at 3:00 pm at Bath Baptist Church 13527 Webster Rd., Bath, Michigan, with visitation one hour prior. A luncheon will follow the service.

Interment will be at a later date at Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Bath.

Contributions in honor of Robert may be made to the Bath Township Fire Department, 5633 Drumheller Rd, Bath Township, MI.
