Roger A. Esch

Roger Esch of Lansing, MI, born April 22, 1964 to Harold and Loretta (Pohl) Esch, passed away August 27, 2014 at the age of 50. Lovingly known to them as Papa, his grandchildren were the joy of his life. He loved spending time with his family and watching Scooby Doo with his grandchildren. Roger also liked muscle cars and was a Star Trek fan. He enjoyed visiting Lake Michigan and loved fishing. Surviving to cherish his memory are his parents; wife, Dee; children, Jessica (Dan Harris) Esch, David (Mandi) Esch, and Johnathan Esch; grandchildren, Aurora and Gabriel; brothers, Mark (Maria) Esch, Paul (Vicki) Esch, and Darrell (Nicole) Esch; sisters, Ann(Charles) Hanlin and Carolyn (James) Pock; many nieces, nephews and friends. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, September 2, at Valley Farms Baptist Church, 1141 E. State Road in Lansing with Pastor David R. Leisman officiating. Family will receive friends from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Sunday, August 31, at Gorsline Runciman Funeral Homes, 205 E. Washington, in DeWitt and from 9:30 to 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday at the church. Those desiring may make contributions to the National Kidney Foundation,1169 Oak Valley Drive, Ann Arbor, MI 48108, in memory of Roger. The family is being served by Gorsline Runciman Funeral Homes DeWitt Chapel.
