Ruth Eloise (Vogtlin) Bishop died peacefully, Tuesday, June 7, 2011. She was born January 18, 1918 in Bessemer, Michigan to Marguretta (Kitto) and Joseph A. Vogtlin. She is survived by her son, George E. Bishop and his wife Carol J. Bishop; grandchildren, Kim Schneider, William P. Hitchens (Miranda), Chad A. Hitchens (Sherri), Matthew S. Hitchens and five great grandchildren. Ruth worked as an Administrative Assistant to the Provost of Northern Michigan University for over 30 years and retired in 1983. She was a lifelong member of the United Methodist Church in Marquette. Ruth enjoyed music, theatre, and duplicate bridge. A memorial service will be held on Sunday, June 12, 2011, at 4:00 p.m., at the Gorsline Runciman Funeral Homes, DeWitt Chapel, 205 E. Washington, DeWitt, MI with the Rev. Wes Emerson officiating.
