Syrine Sonier, 87, was born April 28, 1932 in McKenzie, TN in a farm house to the late Silas and Ethel(Ruff) Whitsitt. She passed away May 31, 2019 at home on Platte Lake in Honor, MI. She graduated from Sexton High School in Lansing, MI in 1950. She worked for Fisher Body in Labor Relations for nine years, and for the State of Michigan until retirement.
She met and married Dean Sonier, over the next 56 years of marriage, they enjoyed traveling, visiting the Upper Peninsula, spending time down by the lakes, watching the sunset.
She is survived by her children, Randy (Annette) Sonier, Mike (Sandy) Sonier; 6 grandchildren; Heather (John) Kish, Justin Sonier, Danielle (Matt) Basgall, Josh Sonier, Jacob Sonier, Stephanie Sonier; 5 great grandchildren, Johnny, Noah, Hannah, Aiden, Hailey. Also, survived by her siblings; Maxine (Robert) Vanderstow, John "Jack"(Connie) Whitsitt as well as numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Dean; daughter, Tamara; and sister, Evelin Smith.

The family will receive visitors Friday, June 7, from 12:00-1:00 pm at Gorsline Runciman Funeral Homes, 205 E. Washington, DeWitt, MI. A Graveside Service will follow visitation, at City of DeWitt Cemetery located at 801 N Bridge St, Dewitt, MI 48820.
