Vicki was born on January 3, 1949, in Adrian, Michigan and spent most of her adult life there. Adrian is where she developed her lifelong love of family, friendship, and simple joys that brought people together. Vicki was the daughter of the late Herbert W. Hamann and Joyce (Shadbolt) Hamann. Surviving are her sisters Jacalyn (Philip) Kingsley, both of Mears, Michigan and Julie (Eric) Penrod of Saint Anne, Illinois and her beloved nieces and nephews.
Vicki was a devoted mother and grandmother whose life centered on caring for others. She was endlessly proud as she would say of, “my three sons”—Brian (Tammy) Van Norman, Bradley Van Norman, and Stacy Van Norman—and she found her greatest joy in being “Grandma” to her two grandchildren, Blake and Sophie Van Norman. Her warmth, humor, and steady kindness touched everyone she met. She was a friend to all.
Vicki will be remembered for her generous heart, her quiet laughter, and for the way she snuck into a room – just a bit late.
A Celebration of Vicki’s Life will be held on Saturday November 15th, 2025, at the Gorsline Runciman Funeral Home in DeWitt, Michigan. Family and friends can gather to share memories and honor her remarkable spirit from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to a memorial fund to honor those who provided care and comfort to Vicki. https://gofund.me/0cce4492e
