

A Mass of Christian Burial at St. Elizabeth Catholic Church will be held on Friday, November 29, 2013 at 11:00 am for Mrs. Alma S. Rousseau, age 91, who passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Tuesday, November 26, 2013 at her home. Visitation will be 8:00 am until 11:00 am at St. Elizabeth Catholic Church. Reverend Andrew Merrick pastor of St. Elizabeth Catholic Church will be the celebrant of the mass and will conduct funeral services. Interment will immediately follow at St. Elizabeth Cemetery. Services under the direction of Ourso Funeral Home, Donaldsonville, LA. Alma S. Rousseau was born on August 2, 1922, daughter of the late Samuel and Delta Leblanc Simoneaux. She was a resident of Paincourtville, Louisiana and a native of Grand Bayou, Louisiana. Alma was a devote catholic who dedicated her life to her family, friends and church. She spent her life serving her family as a homemaker. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
She is survived by three daughters, Jessica Baye and husband Mike, Joy Banta and husband Eugene, Heidi Mattingly and husband Chris; one son H. David “Picou” Rousseau Jr. and wife Carol; one sister, Allie Simoneaux Dupre; thirteen grandchildren, Joel Baye, Bennett Baye, Allison B. Barbin, Drue B. Winters, Julie B. Lee, Ellen E. Banta, Bert Blanchard, Caroline B. Ourso, Kate E. Blanchard, Damian Cedotal, Lauren E. Mattingly, Grant Rousseau and Hayes Rousseau; 18 great grandchildren, Taylor , Reid and Logan Baye, Emily, Ethan, Elise and Emma Camille Barbin, Aidan and Harper Lee, Paige and Peyton Blanchard, Ashton and Addison Ourso, Sarah Rivere, Adrienne, Lily and Lola Cedotal and Jackson Bourgeois. She was preceded in death by husband Harold David “Picou” Rousseau Sr., daughter, Wanda Rousseau Blanchard and granddaughter Courtney Joy Banta.
Pallbearers will be Joel Baye, Bennett Baye, Damian Cedotal, Grant Rousseau, Hayes Rousseau and Jeff Barbin. The family wishes to thank caregivers Margaret Circello, Sharon Thibodeaux, Celeste Walker and Brenda Falcon. The family would like to offer special thanks to Cardinal Hospice.
