

Anyson “Noonie” “Gramp Noon” Joseph Scioneaux, Jr., 96, a native and resident of St. James, Louisiana died peacefully at his home on Saturday, September 27, 2025. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather, a retired sugar cane farmer and a veteran of the Korean War. We thank him and all who have served their country.
He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Doris Stein Scioneaux. His children, Paula (Charles) Hymel, Maggie (Leslie) Loup and Tim Scioneaux; a brother, Donovan (Kris) Scioneaux and a sister-in-law, JoAnn (Carroll) Scioneaux; his grandchildren, Jeremy (Beth) Scioneaux, Brett (Anne) Loup, Devin (Katie) Hymel, and Justin (Adeline) Loup; his great-grandchildren Liam, Charley, and Owen Hymel and his step great- grandchildren Faith, Carson and Hayden Reulet, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Anyson Joseph Scioneaux, Sr. and Leah Fabre Scioneaux; his brothers, Carroll Joseph Scioneaux, Ronald “Be’Be’” Joseph Scioneaux (Hazel), an infant sister, Delores Scioneaux, and a granddaughter, Raini Nicole Scioneaux.
Honorary pallbearers will be Jeremy Scioneaux, Brett Loup, Devin Hymel and Justin Loup.
A memorial visitation will be held on Monday, October 6, 2025 from 9:30 am until the Memorial Mass for 11:00 am at Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church in Vacherie. Interment to follow in the church mausoleum. Father Mike O'Rourke will officiate.
