August Filmore Bradford

August was a loving father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, uncle, cousin and friend. August served in the Army where he fought in the Korean War serving as a Sergeant in the 1st Cavalry Division. He was a proud firefighter who also served as a Fire Chief for the town of Donaldsonville. He touched the lives of so many people. August had a passion for taking photos and was a photographer and Historian. He was also a beekeeper and enjoyed playing on his computer.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory his three children, Keith Bradford Sr. (Anner); Mark Bradford and Darlene Bradford (Don Paul); three grandchild, Keith Bradford Jr., Jessica Guillote (Wayne Sr.) and Christopher Bradford (Jonny); five great grandchildren, Jacob Bradford, Melaina Bradford, Valerie Guillote, Wayne Guillote Jr. and Lucy Guillote and one sister, Elodie Bostwick.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Mary Ella Bradford; one grandson, William Bradford; parents, Percy Sr. and Lillian Roussel Bradford and his four siblings, Percy Bradford Jr., Lillian Caballero, Rosemary Gorrondona and Russell Bradford.

A visitation will be held at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Donaldsonville, LA on Wednesday, February 12, 2025 from 9am until mass of Christian Burial at 11am with interment to follow in the Ascension of Our Lord Catholic Church Mausoleum.
