Bessie Rouge

Bessie is survived by her daughters, Juliette Pitre, Nora Duet (David) and Amelia Alleman (David); sons, Kent Rouge (Rosalind), Wendall Rouge (Gail), Robert Rouge (Dedra), Dominic Rouge (Myra) and Joshua Rouge (Diane); 23 grandchildren, 31 great grandchildren, 17 great-great grandchildren and 2 on the way.

Preceded in death by her husband, John Rouge; daughter, Celeste Cortez; parents, John C. and Uranie Webre; 6 infant children; 3 grandchildren, Cherise Cortez, Gideon Rouge and Shawn Cortez; great-great grandchild, Elijah Naquin; 8 sisters, Mae Webre, Gertrude Webre, Marguerite Stein, Frances Williams, Mary Barre, Mary Agnes Wright, Gladys Kliebert and Mercedes Rodrigue; 9 brothers, Alvin, Edward, Guy, Harris, John, Jr., Norman, Phamphile, Roy and Damase Webre.

Bessie was a devoted Adoration Chapel Adorer at Our Lady of Peace since its inception until her recent illness. She was a commissioner of voters with 60 plus years of service.

A visitation for Bessie will be held Wednesday, December 28, 2022 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church, Vacherie, Louisiana 70090. A mass of christian burial will occur Wednesday, December 28, 2022 at 11:00 AM, Vacherie, Louisiana 70090. Burial will follow in Our Lady of Peace Mausoleum, Vacherie, LA.
