Betty Breaux Defiore, 84, a native of Raceland and resident of Donaldsonville passed away on Tuesday, September 18, 2018. Betty enjoyed spending time with her family, sewing, taking care of her daughters, working in her yard and shopping. She also enjoyed cooking and was the co-owner of Cross Keys Restaurant in Donaldsonville for seven years. She leaves behind to cherish her memory her four daughters, Gwendolyn Faucheaux (Stephen), Nickie Lynn Long, Glenda Shaheen (Glenn), Colleen Ourso (Russell); eleven grandchildren, Michael Castrogovannie, Stephen Faucheaux II, Aleaha Shaheen Morgan, Patrick Faucheaux (Brandi), Mathew Shaheen (Kristie), Jenna Lejeune (Adrien), Lauren Pepin (Paul), Daniel Shaheen, Alex Defiore, Malana Dimm (Jonathan) and Russell James Ourso II; sixteen great grandchildren, Stephen, Sophia, Grace and Julia Faucheaux, Mason and Cooper Pepin, Nathan and Isabella Defiore, Brayden and Brylee Morgan, Karsyn, Kamryn, Kamille and Rhett Shaheen, Nicholas Ourso and Raina Dimm and brother-in-law, Walter A. Waguespack. She is preceded in death by her husband, Nicholas Daniel Defiore; parents, Eves and Alice Breaux; sister, Aurelie Waguespack; son-in-law, Glynn A. Long and grand-son-in-law, Tim Morgan. Visitation will be held on Monday, September 24, 2018 at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Donaldsonville from 8:30am until Mass of Christian Burial at 11am, celebrated by Rev. Paul Yi and Rev. Jack Ward. The family would like to thank her caregivers, Jeannie Herbert, Noonie Naquin, Lois Sawyer, and Audrey McComes. A special thanks to Dr. Shows and staff at Mary Bird Perkins Cancer Center and the staff at Amedisys Hospice.
