My mom and Billy grew up together. When my mom married my dad, Billy and my dad became best friends and played in a band together for decades.

Billy worked hard, provided for his family, tried to instill a sense of responsibility in his children, kept his door open for friends and family, loved Sandra and his pets, and enjoyed his music hobby.

Where do I start, some 30 to 40 years ago, the memories began to pile up. From riding in the back of the truck going to see maw maw and paw paw to playing drums at the family reunion. Those will always be my fondest memories. The days of going to see Aunt Lizzy and uncle Don on Christmas I'll cherish. Working on the tractor (8N Ford) in the cold because we had to have it to work the land. Speaking of cold, chopping wood for the winter because we had to have it. These things I will always remember. Picking plums and blackberries and getting in trouble for it. Oh and the garden, very fond memory of that thing. Playing drums with paw paw and truck drivers band and cms express looking over at that white fender stratocaster you were playing to make sure I was on beat. The list could go on and I would be here for a little while. Tell everyone I said hey up there. Y'all make some music. Until we meet again. RIP dad. I love ya. Billy jr.
