Chris John Dugas

A lifelong resident of Belle Rose, he passed away Friday, February 22, 2013 at the age of 63. He is survived by his wife of 20 years, Audrey Arroyo Dugas; sons and daughter-in-law, Shannon and Jan Dugas, Joey Dugas, Brian Dugas, Blake Dugas; brothers and sisters-in-law, E.J. and Tracie Dugas, Sidney and Ann Dugas, Mickey and Frances Dugas, Medric and Carol Dugas; grandsons, Christopher, Andrew, Preston, and Alex Dugas; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other family and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, Selma Simoneaux and Eddie P. Dugas. Chris was a veteran of the United States Navy. He retired from Dow Chemical in 2004 after 30 years of service. He was an avid woodworker, gardener, and fisherman. There will be a visitation at Ourso Funeral Home, Donaldsonville, Tuesday, February 26, 2013, from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Visitation will resume at the funeral home, Wednesday, February 27, 2013, from 9:00 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. Following, there will be a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Jules Catholic Church in Belle Rose at 11:00 a.m., with Rev. Andrew Merrick, celebrant. Entombment will be in the church cemetery. Pallbearers will be Shannon Dugas, Joey Dugas, Brian Dugas, Blake Dugas, Steven Dugas and Michael Dugas.
