OBITUARY

Dale "Mullet" Landry

July 19, 1952March 23, 2020

Dale β€œMullet” Landry, a Napoleonville native and Plattenville resident, passed away on Monday, March 23, 2020 at age 67. Dale was a loving husband, devoted father, enthusiastic grandfather, and remarkable friend. While quiet and reserved, Dale went out of his way to help anyone with anything. Whether it was coaching SES basketball, refereeing pee-wee basketball, or completing behind the scenes projects, he loved going above and beyond when it came to helping around St. Elizabeth School during the time his sons were there until now. He enjoyed LSU sports, cooking with his wife, fishing, and especially family trips to Grand Isle. He will live forever in the memory of his wife of thirty-nine years, Tina Landry; two sons, Chad Landry and Curry Landry with wife, Rebecca; granddaughter, Harper Landry; sister, Carolyn LaDart with husband Ross; and grand-dog, Bernard. Dale was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Doicie Thibodaux Landry, and sister, Emma Lee Picard. Due to present circumstances, a private service will be held on March 27, 2020.

So sorry to hear this. I second "Pachook's"memory because I think it happened in my front yard. Dale would give everybody a nickname until we named him Mullet. Dale would ride his bike to my house to play basketball. Not once did he let me win! I miss those memories already and hope he leaves a spot for me on his team. My prayers and sympathy goes to his family.

My dad and Dale’s dad, Mr. Joe, both had bread delivery routes with Acadian Maid bread for many years. Our families vacationed together to Biloxi one year when Dale and I were about 5 or 6 years old. Condolences and prayers to his wife and family.

I'm so sorry for your loss. I grew up with Dale and we were close friends through high school. He gave me my nickname "Pachook" when we were in the 6th grade and it stuck to this day. We played a lot of sports together and he was one of the best athletes I ever had the pleasure of playing with. I'm so glad that I got to visit with him at our reunion at Community Center, but wish I could have visited more. I know he will be greatly missed, but his memory will live on for generations. God Bless you my friend.
