

Daniel Christopher (D.C.) Mattingly, 83, died a peaceful Christian death on Tuesday, July 29, 2014 at St. James Place in Baton Rouge surrounded by his family. D.C. was a veteran of the US Army and enjoyed a life-long career in the Louisiana sugarcane industry. He served as President of Dugas & LeBlanc LTD and later served as Vice President of Lula Westfield LLC until his retirement.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 59 years, Marilyn Savoie Mattingly.
He is survived by five daughters, Sabrina Mattingly, Marilyn Dawn Barbera and husband Alan,
Celine Dubreuil and husband Mark, Ellen Bourgeois and husband Todd, and Mollie Landry and husband Chris; two sons, Chris D. Mattingly and wife Heidi and Daniel C. Mattingly and wife Sandy; seventeen grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and one brother, Lee Mattingly, Texas.
Preceded in death by parents Daniel C. and Grace Mattingly and siblings Ellen Louise Mattingly, Grace Dolores Lucas, and Marie Harges,
Pallbearers will be Matthew Landry, Damian Cedotal, Brandon Barbera, David Dubreuil, Scott Bourgeois, Douglas Landry, and D.C. Mattingly.
Visitation will be held on Friday, August 1, 2014 at 9:00 a.m. until Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. at St. Jules Catholic Church in Belle Rose. Celebrant will be Fr. Andrew Merrick. Entombment will follow at the church mausoleum.
