Denis J. Webre Sr., 88, passed away at his residence surrounded by his family on January 12, 2021. He was a native of Vacherie and resident of Donaldsonville. He was a U.S. Army veteran and served during the Korean conflict. Denis retired as a welding superintendent from McDermott with 42 years of service. He is survived by his three children, Sheree W. Schexnayder (Douglas), Denis J. Webre Jr. (Sally), and Todd M. Webre; four grandchildren, Derek J. Webre, Dayna W. Aysen, Blaine M. Landry, and Michel L. Casso; two step grandchildren, Douglas Schexnayder Jr. and Amy Schexnayder; eight great grandchildren, one sister, Loretta W. Blanchard; two brothers, Ulric B. Webre (Carmen) and David W. Webre (Elsie) and his loyal companion dog, Pal. He is preceded in death by his wife, Marianne Savoy Webre; his grandmother who raised him, Marie Therese Becnel; parents, Maurice A. and Isabelle Marie Becnel Webre; two brothers, Maurice A. Webre Jr. and Donald C. Webre; and sister, Lorraine W. Woods. The family would like to thank the staff of Notre Dame Hospice and his nurse Zhanna Bennett, Veronica Jones and Ebony Brown, OLOL Ascension Hospital, Council on Aging, and Father Matthew Dupre. The services for Denis will be private for immediate family only. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to any charity of your choice. Pallbearers will be: Doug Schexnayder Sr., Jason Casso, Evan Casso, Jay Aysen, Derek Webre, and David Webre. Honorary pallbearers will be: Ulric Webre and Ricky Boudreaux.
