Duplessis, Dorothy “Dot” Foucheaux

Dorothy “Dot” F. Duplessis died at the D’Ville House in Donaldsonville, Friday July 15, 2011. She was 89 and a native of New Orleans. She was a retired Postmaster, former board member of the Jambalaya Association, former member of the American Legion Ladies Auxillary, NAPUS, Busy Needles, and St. Anthony’s Altar Society. She is survived by two daughters, Theresa D. Klack, and Cheryl D. Sutton and husband Kenneth; son Richard J. Duplessis; two granddaughters Randi Dill and Marcel Dugas and husband Neal; three great-granddaughters Chelsi Dill, Stevi and Charli Dugas; foster sisters Claire Black and Carolee Smiley; and foster brother Burton and wife Florence Duplessis. She was preceded in death by her husband Layton J. Duplessis; mother Effie B. Foucheaux; sister Sr. Mary Estelle Foucheaux, MSC; son-in-law Joseph J. Klack; foster sisters Carolyn Smiley and Carmel Madere.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 21, 2011 at St. Anthony Catholic Church, 37303 Highway 22, Darrow, La from 9:00 a.m. until Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. Arrangements under the direction of Ourso Funeral Home in Donaldsonville. In lieu of flowers, family request donations made to Ascension Catholic School 311 St. Vincent St., Donaldsonville, La 70346 or Our Lady of the Lake Children’s Hospital 5000 Hennessey, Baton Rouge, La70808. Special thanks to the staff at the D’Ville House and Life Source Hospice.
