

Edwin “EJ” Joseph Dugas, a native and resident of Belle Rose and a former resident of Baton Rouge for 41 years, passed away on Saturday, July 23, 2016 at the age of 82. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Tracie Laurent Dugas; two daughters, Phyllis Dugas Tennyson and husband, Don, and Yvette Dugas Hughes and husband, Shane; one son Byron Dugas and wife, Sherry; seven grandchildren, Sister Gemma Rose Tennyson, Holly Tennyson, Joshua Tennyson, Ryan Dugas, Seth Hughes, Kyle Hughes, and Sarah Hughes; two step grandchildren, Johnny and Lane Schuler; three brothers Sidney Dugas and wife, Ann, Mickey Dugas and wife, Frances, and Medric Dugas and wife, Carol; one sister-in-law, Audrey Dugas; numerous nieces and nephews and other family and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, Selma Simoneaux and Eddie Dugas and one brother Chris Dugas. EJ was a veteran of the United States Army. He retired from Dow Chemical after 30 years of service. He enjoyed gardening, fishing, camping, and spending time with his grandchildren. His favorite hobby was woodworking. Pallbearers will be: Sidney Dugas, Mickey Dugas, Medric Dugas, Byron Dugas, Seth Hughes, and Kyle Hughes. Visitation will be held at Ourso Funeral Home, Donaldsonville on Wednesday, July 27, 2016 from 6pm until 9pm and on Thursday, July 28, 2016 at St Jules Catholic Church in Belle Rose from 9am until Mass of Christian Burial at 11am.
