Elaine Landry Fastring

A native of Paincourtville and resident of Baton Rouge, passed away surrounded by family on April 30, 2017 at age 76. She was a loving mother, sister, aunt, grandmother and great grandmother who will be missed by all who loved her. She enjoyed fishing, flowers and especially loved her dog Mikey. She had a love of learning and went back to school at 60 years of age to receive her PhD in Nursing. She loved the Lord and was a devout Christian. She is survived by her children, Michelle Duhon, Shannon Bryant, Julius Theriot Jr. and Eric Fastring; her sisters, Alma Thibodeaux, and Carole Bullock; her brothers Joseph, Carl, Robert, Allen, Clyde, Elliot, and Christopher Landry; ten grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; and two God children, Desiree Fairley and Dale Thibodeaux with a host of nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, Cullen and Alma Landry; her husbands, Julius “Joe Louis” Theriot Sr. and Holt Fastring; her sister, Camille Reavis; her brother, Emmett Landry; her son in law, Emile Duhon Sr.; and her two grandsons, Bobby James Duhon and Barry Pellegrin. The family would like to give a special thanks to Dr. Miletello and staff. Also, Amedisys Hospice and Cypress Home Health for their professionalism and care. Our mother was also extremely blessed to have cousins’, Ann Thibodeaux and Yvette LeBlanc to care for her.
