Our loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and great great grandmother has gone on to her eternal reward in Heaven. Elgie Mae “Mrs. Jimmie” Waguespack LeBlanc, 94 died on Sunday, June 30, 2013 at her home in Donaldsonville. She was a graduate of St.Amant High School. She enjoyed knitting baby blankets, baking cakes, playing bingo, going on casino trips, eating out, flowers, and plants. She was also known for her great cooking. Elgie is survived by her two daughters and a son-in-law, Geri LeBlanc Schexnayder and Charles J. Schexnayder and Keri LeBlanc Hebert; two sons, Gene Gerard LeBlanc and wife Genie and Glyn Edward LeBlanc and wife Lois; grandchildren, Nicole S. Whitfield, Cliff and wife Britney, Brett and wife Dalee, Cody and friend Hana, Kaycee and husband Zane Blanchard, Kalli and husband Clayton Spears, Elise H. LeBlanc and friend Brandon, and Emily L. and husband Ryan Burgett; great grandchildren, Lauren Whitfield, Charles Whitfield Jr., Ian LeBlanc, Toby LeBlanc, Madison LeBlanc, Grant Blanchard, Tyler Blanchard, Baby Girl Blanchard, Jaxon LeBlanc, Jolee LeBlanc, Katelyn Alyse Bourgeois, Bryce Spears, Ethan LeBlanc, Ainsley Kate LeBlanc, and Olive Burgett; one great great granddaughter, Aubree Rose Carter; Godmother of Richard Waguespack, Gayle Boudreaux, “Boy” Bourgeois, Jackie W. Guillot, Barry J. Waguespack, and Don LeBlanc; and sister-in-law, Adlice T. Waguespack.
Preceded in death by her husband, Edward “Blackie” LeBlanc; son Dayne J. LeBlanc; four brothers, Rudy Paul Waguespack, Nolan Waguespack and wife Vivian, Bernie Waguespack and wife Delores “ToLou” and EJ Waguespack; two sisters, Majel Waguespack and Laurance Waguespack.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 3, 2013 at 9:00 a.m. until Mass of Christian Burial at 1:00 p.m. at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Smokebend. Interment to follow at Ascension of Our Lord Catholic Mausoleum in Donaldsonville. Arrangements by Ourso Funeral Home in Donaldsonville.
Pallbearers will be Gene LeBlanc, Cliff LeBlanc, Brett LeBlanc, Glyn LeBlanc, Cody LeBlanc, and Ian LeBlanc. Honorary Pallbearer will be Charles J. Schexnayder.
