

He was born in Garland, Arkansas in 1930 during the depression era and grew up in Vivian, Louisiana spending summers in Texarkana with his grandfather and cousins. He later joined the Navy in 1948 and served until 1951 where he became a Korean War veteran. He was also a proud 50+ year member of the masonic lodge. He later married his wife of 72 years, Jeanette Eaton of Rodessa, Louisiana in 1953 and spent a career working in upper management with the United Gas Pipeline primarily in South Louisiana. He spent recent years living life vicariously through his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was always available for a phone call or text if needed. His guidance and counsel will be deeply missed. There is no replacing his depth of knowledge and wisdom! He was always a principle centered man.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory, his loving wife, Jeanette Eaton West; three children, E. Randall (Lea), Gaye Seay (Glenn)and Jeany Barbier (Jerome); three grandchildren, Kristen Pool (Dustin), Cameron Barbier (Maddee) and Olivia (Anthony); four great-grandchildren, Ella, Violet, Everett and Stella; two sisters, Vernie Barr and Helen Cross in Vivian, La; and his lifelong best friends, Ronald and Beryl Woods, along with a host of nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Glenn Everett and Bertha West; and his grandson, Clay West Barbier.
The pallbearers will be Cameron Barbier, Ronald Woods, Jerome Barbier, Glenn Seay, Marcus Olivier and Phyllis Fredrick.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, March 29, 2025 from 10:00 am until the funeral services to begin for 11:00 am at First Baptist Church, in Napoleonville. Burial to follow at the First Baptist Church Cemetery. Pastor Tony Thibodeaux will be officiating.
