Now at rest with our Lord, Gary Paul Landry, age 72, a native and resident of Belle Rose, passed away on April, 16, 2017 at his residence in Belle Rose, La. He was a United States Air Force Veteran and retired from Dow Chemical in Plaquemine after 33 years of service as an electrician. Gary was a man who loved his family dearly and taught his children and grandchildren to be respectful of and thankful for all God’s gifts. He was generous with his time and talents spending many hours cooking Shrimp and Crab Stew for local church festivals and monthly for St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital. In addition to his generous nature, Gary will be remembered for his love of fishing and his appreciation for the outdoors, playing cards and bowling. Gary was preceded in death by his wife of 24 years, Karen Cappen Landry, his parents Fernand and Lena. He is survived by his wife of 21 years Gail Chamberlain Landry, his brother Charles (Brenda) Landry, and his sisters Charlotte (Donald) Blanchard, Barbara (Alvin) Gros, and Eleanor “Pug” (Philip) Babin. Gary is also survived by his three sons and their wives, Marty and Donna Newchurch Landry, Mike and Holly Domingue Landry, Craig and Kimberly Edwards Landry as well as his three step-children and their spouses Romeo and Kim Thibodeaux Villarreal, Charles and Stephanie Grisaffe Thibodeaux, and Jeff and Summer Thibodeaux Knight. He is survived by thirteen grandchildren, Tucker, Claire, and Camille Landry; Lauren, Allen, and Jake Landry; Paul Landry; Blake and Garrett Jones, Josh and Trey Thibodeaux, Kate and Karlie Knight; and two great grandchildren. The family would like to thank Dr. Hanson and staff and St. Joseph Hospice for their love and care. Visitation will be held on Friday, April 21, 2017 at St. Jules Catholic Church from 8:30am until Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00am. Burial to follow in church cemetery.
