Jerry was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle, cousin, and friend. He dedicated forty-four years of his life to sugarcane farming, working for Herman Boudreaux & Son’s—a family business founded by his father and later passed down to Jerry and his brother, Larry. Jerry was proud to be pronounced Outstanding Farmer of the year in 2012.
In his free time, Jerry found joy in dancing, gardening, and spending quality time with his loved ones. He had a gift for storytelling and was always ready with a joke to make others smile. A passionate sports fan, Jerry especially loved cheering for LSU and the New Orleans Saints. He was also a lifelong NASCAR enthusiast and a proud supporter of Dale Earnhardt.
A 3rd and 4th Degree Knights of Columbus, he served with pride and dedication. He was a former state board member of the Farm Bureau of Baton Rouge and a past president of the Assumption Parish Farm Bureau. His passion for agriculture and community upliftment was further evident in his involvement with the Bayouland Young Farmers Organization.
Jerry also found joy in supporting local youth and school activities. As a member of the Assumption High School “Volleyball Mamaw’s and Pawpaw’s,” he was known for cooking at games and enthusiastically cheering on the team. He was also one of the founding members of the Community Softball League in Plattenville.
A devout Catholic, Jerry cherished his faith and was a proud parishioner of St. Anne, Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary, and Immaculate Conception Churches. One of the highlights of his spiritual life was contributing to the renovation of St. Anne Church, where he applied his talents in electrical and marble work—an offering of both skill and devotion.
Jerry’s life was rich with love, laughter, and dedication. His memory will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
