Glenn Jacques Robert, age 99, of Donaldsonville, LA, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, August 19, 2026. Loving father of Alan J. Robert (Tessie), Glena Robert Harlan (Eric), Roy M. Robert, and Randal J. Robert (Jane). Grandfather of six grandchildren, Alana Haynie (Ryan), Kyle Robert, Austin Robert (Rebekah), Scott Harlan (Elizabeth), Stephen Harlan (Kelly), Sarah Paul (Dave) and nine great-grandchildren.
Preceded in death by his devoted wife of 72 years, Lena Mistretta Robert. Also pre-deceased by his parents, Remy P. Robert and Ethel Landry Robert, and siblings Hulin J. Robert, Cecil P. Robert, Lois Robert Simoneaux, Shelby L. Robert and Joyce A. Robert, and daughter-in-law Laurie S. Robert.
A native of Burnside, La., he graduated from Catholic High School in Donaldsonville in 1944 and Louisiana State University (petroleum engineering) in 1950. He served in the U.S. Maritime Service from 1945 to 1947. He was co-owner of Home Furnishings & Appliance Co., retiring in 1992. He was also co-owner and President of Pierre Part Natural Gas, Co., from 1959 to 1997. He was a board member of Ascension Savings & Loan and Prevost Memorial Hospital. He was also a long-time member of the Elks, Rotary Club and Donaldsonville Chamber of Commerce.
A lifelong active parishioner of Ascension Catholic Church, he served as a Eucharistic Minister, was on the Building and Finance Committees and was part of the Angola Outreach ministry. He spent the last six years of his life at St. James Place in Baton
Rouge, La. where he was a cherished member of that community. He will be truly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Mass at Ascension Catholic Church, 716 Mississippi St., Donaldsonville, LA on Saturday, August 22, 2026, at 11:30 a.m. Visitation at the church beginning at 9:30 a.m.
