

Jean was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend whose love and kindness touched all who knew her. She adored her family and treasured every moment spent with them.
For more than thirty years, she taught English and French at Assumption High School in Napoleonville, sharing not only her knowledge but also her deep passion for the French language. She loved speaking French and took joy in connecting with others through it.
In her spare time, Jean enjoyed traveling, reading, cooking, and shopping with her granddaughter, Darian. Her warmth, kindness, and dedication touched all who knew her.
She is survived by her husband of fifty-eight years, Anthony “Teeny” Madere; two children, Robert Madere and Julie Madere; one granddaughter, Darian Madere; five siblings, Alton Charlet (Mary), Cheryl Charlet, Sally Jones (John), Barry Charlet, and Perry Charlet (Christina); and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family members.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Alvin and Eldie Sanchez Charlet and her sister, Mazel Charlet.
The family would like to thank Vital Caring Hospice, the staff at Clarity Hospice of Baton Rouge, and her special caregiver, Sharla Brown, for their care and support in her time of need.
A visitation will be held on Friday, November 21, 2025, at Ascension of Our Lord Catholic Church in Donaldsonville, LA, from 8:30am until mass of Christian Burial at 11am. Interment to follow in the church mausoleum.
