Jennie Dato

Jennie Pizzolato Dato, 90, a loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, passed away at her home surrounded by her family on June 18, 2011 at 9:30 p.m. Jennie was a native and resident of Donaldsonville. Jennie is survived by her two daughters, JoAnn Dato Grisaffe and husband Anthony Sr., Frances Dato Hidalgo and husband Lloyd Jr.; three grandchildren, Gina Grisaffe Richard and husband Jude, Anthony Grisaffe Jr. and wife Ann, and Beth Hidalgo; and three great grandchildren, Trey Richard, Ali Jo Richard, and Ceily Grisaffe; two sisters-in-law, Mary Lee Pizzolato and Marion Pizzolato; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Anthony J. “Blink” Dato; mother and father, Cecile Sotile and Joseph Pizzolato; and three brothers, Tony, Vincent and Jake Pizzolato.

Pallbearers will be Trey Richard, Vincent Pizzolato, Frankie Sotile, Joey Pizzolato, Bill Pizzolato, Tad Pizzolato, and Evan Copeland.

Visitation will be held at Ourso Funeral Home in Donaldsonville on Monday, June 20, 2011 from 6:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. and on Tuesday, June 21, 2011 from 8:00 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial to follow at Ascension of Our Lord Catholic Church with Fr. Phil Spano, celebrant. Entombment in Ascension of Our Lord Catholic Cemetery.

The family would like to sincerely thank the staff of St. Elizabeth Hospital, Amedysis Hospice, and caregivers, Gail Simon, Margie “Cookie” Gibson, Lois Sawyer, and Laverne Lawson.
