A native and resident of Donaldsonville, Joseph passed away on Tuesday, March 7, 2017 at Chateau D’Ville Nursing Home. He was 83. Joseph was a sugarcane farmer and enjoyed working in his vegetable garden and crawfish ponds. He also enjoyed being with family and his dog Mike. He is survived by his 3 daughters, Patricia “Pat” Latino Russo (Camille “Rocky”), Donna Latino Barbier, and Lisa Latino Matassa (Steve); 3 sons, Joseph “Joey” A. Latino Jr., James J. Latino, and Dale M. Latino (Toni); sister, Angelina “Nona” Latino Theriot (Huey); 9 grandchildren, Camille “Jay” Russo (Darie), Jarred Russo, Jordan Russo, Brandi Latino, James M. Latino (Brandy), Alexandra and Alayna Matassa, and Ashley and Ross Barbier; and 4 great grandchildren, Cameron, Logan, and Ella Russo and Baby Thea Latino. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Alice Jennings Latino; parents, Tony Jr. and Jennie Tortorich Latino; sisters, Jennie Latino Humphries (Ira), Seraphine “Fena” Latino Fisher (Albert), Lena Latino Dinino (Steve), and Virginia Latino. Visitation will be at Ourso Funeral Home, Donaldsonville on Friday, March 10, 2017 from 5 pm to 10 pm and will resume on Saturday from 8 am to 10:30 am. Mass of Christian Burial will follow at Ascension Catholic Church at 11 am, Rev. Paul Ye officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Pallbearers will be Joey Latino, James Latino, Dale Latino, Jay Russo, Jarred Russo, Jordan Russo, James Michael Latino, and Ross Barbier. To offer your condolences please visit

So sorry for your loss. I remember Mr. Joe well, growing up in Donaldsonville, as a kid running, around the cane fields with James. My first tractor ride. RIP.
