Katherine Acosta

Katherine "Kathy" Marie Dugas Acosta, 72, a loving and caring wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend; passed away unexpectedly on Friday, May 27, 2022. Kathy was married to Kenny, the love of her life for over 50 years.

She was a retired manager at CF - LA credit union. She was a devout catholic and parishioner of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church where she served as a lector and eucharistic minister. Kathy enjoyed spending time with her family and loved following her grandchildren in extra-curricular activities. She was an occasional gambler, enjoyed eating out with friends and old classmates, and loved spending time at her camp in Grand Isle.

Kathy is survived by her husband, Kenny; children, Jeremy (Kristen) Acosta, Brandon (Robbie) Acosta, Megan (Trae') Ourso; grandchildren, Bailey, Brock, Cade, Cody Acosta and Alyse and Ava Kate Ourso; mother, Mae Dugas; siblings, Myra (Gerald) Sentilles, Donna Dugas, Wayne (Sue) Dugas, Vera (Eric) Sanchez, Terry (Penny) Dugas, Ivy (Desiree) Dugas, Jr.; in-laws, Sue Dugas, Jodie (Cliff) Sherman, Felix "Phil" (Myrtis) Acosta, George (Brenda) Acosta, Jr., Claire "Tut" (Oliver) Cassard, Alice (Rawland) Allen and Damian (Rachael) Acosta.

Preceded in death by her father, Ivy Dugas, Sr.; brother, Michael Dugas; father and mother - in-law, Lloyd and Josie Acosta, Sr.

In lieu of flowers donations to St. Jude Children's Hospital.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 31, 2022 at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church from 9am - 11am. Mass of Christian Burial at 11am at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church.
