Leigh Chauvin

Leigh was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend to many. Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 27, 2022 from 8:30 am – 10:45 am at St. Mary’s Chapel, 10120 LA 44, Convent, LA 70723 followed by a Mass of Christian burial at 11 am conducted by Fr. Frank Uter. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Chapel Graveyard.

Leigh Chauvin was born on September 25, 1947 in Little Rock Arkansas to Neal Byron Wood and Mary Louise Walker Wood. Leigh loved spending time with her grandchildren as well as her husband Henry – especially on their trips. She enjoyed smocking and also building Lego projects with her grandson, Luke. Leigh also loved spending time with her dogs, and was an avid admirer of the Cavalier King Charles Spaniel dog breed. Leigh was Office Manager, accountant, and a highly gifted Interior and Exterior Building Design Consultant and Assistant for her Architect husband, Henry Chauvin Architect, LLC.

Leigh is survived by her loving husband, Henry Louis Chauvin; daughter, Ashley Chauvin; sons, Spencer L. Chauvin and his wife, Chantel; Marc F. Chauvin and his wife, Mindy; and Ryan C. Chauvin and his wife, Carmen; Grandchildren, Luke, Kailey, Macy, Chloé, Avery, and Emily Chauvin; sister, Leslie Wood; and brother, Roy Wood. She is preceded in death by her parents and younger brother Steve Wood.

Pallbearers will be, Spencer L. Chauvin, Marc F. Chauvin, Ryan C. Chauvin, Luke W. Chauvin, James I. Hymel III and Thomas “Moose” Pearce. Honorary Pallbearers are, Dr. John Fraiche, Al Chauvin, Steve Chauvin, Donald Bergeron, Lynn Bergeron, and Buzzy Nobile.

After the burial, family and friends are welcome to gather and celebrate the life of Leigh at St. Michael the Archangel Church Hall located at 6484 LA 44, Convent, LA 70723.
