Lena M. Rome

She is survived by her daughters, Darlene R. LeBlanc (James”Jimmy” LeBlanc) and Deborah A. Rome; her grandchildren, Shane LeBlanc (Rebekah), Allen LeBlanc (Matthew), Chris Rome (Marcia), Jenny R. Kelly (Partner: Nobu) and Phillip Rome; her great-grandchildren, Artemis LeBlanc, Lyra and Ben Kelly, Madi, Sloane, Lleyton, Luella, Elliot and Clyde Hazlett. She is also survived by her brother Emile Marcello (Lorraine), her beloved friend Sister Loretto Gettemeier (D.O.C) and numerous family members and friends.

She now joins those who have preceded her in death, her husband Allen J. Rome Jr.; her son, Dennis M. Rome and daughter-in-law Nanci Rome; her granddaughter, Ann M. Hazlett; her parents, Phillip and Patrina Marcello; her brother, Mickey Marcello. Her in-laws Allen J. Sr. and Nellie M. Rome, Gerald and Joan "Pookie" Rome, Harry and Barbara Theriot, Janice Landry and her nephew Kirk Landry.

Lena was a faithful parishioner, choir member, and Eucharistic Minister of Ascension of Our Lord Catholic Church. She loved making fig cookies for the St. Joseph Altar. Lena also took pride in being fit; she loved swimming and exercising.

The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to the caregivers, family and friends who were there for her during her battle with Parkinson’s Disease. Special thanks to her caregivers Kathleen, Kim, Hiddie, Claudia, Judy, Ethel and many others. Thank you to the staff of Audubon Hospice for their care.

She was a much-loved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend. She passed from this life into the next phase of her adventure with our Lord Jesus Christ having spent 95 years on this earth.

She was a guiding light to her family and her legacy and memories will live on.

Visitation will be held at Ascension of Our Lord Catholic Church, 716 Mississippi St, Donaldsonville, Louisiana 70346, on June 26, 2026, from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 12:00 pm. Final resting place will be at Ascension of Our Lord Catholic Church Mausoleum.
