Linda Marie Regira, 55, a native and resident of Donaldsonville passed away on Monday, October 30, 2017; Linda worked as a Director of Policy and Planning for the Louisiana Department of Economic Development. She earned a PhD in Higher Education and a Master‘s degree in Criminal Justice from LSU. Linda taught Criminal Justice at ITT Tech and Southeastern University. She loved LSU, tailgating and watching LSU softball. Linda also enjoyed organizing her co-worker’s softball team, camping and fishing. She is survived by her long-term companion Dennis Barbier; parents, Lawrence and Connie Regira; one son, Derek Stevens; one sister, Lauren Regira Falcon; four grandchildren, Alexa Chaisson, Barrett Barbier, Remington Barbier and Aniya Barbier. She is preceded in death by her grandparents, George and Lois Regira and Albert and Helen Denoux. Visitation will be held on Saturday, November 4, 2017 from 8:30am until Mass of Christain Burial at 11:00am at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church. Interment to follow in church mausoleum.
