

Lino “Luis” Luna, age 87, passed away peacefully on August 27, 2026, at Thibodaux Regional Health System. He was a resident of Napoleonville, La and native of Donaldsonville, La. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, September 03, 2026, at Ascension of our Lord Catholic Church in Donaldsonville, La. Visitation will be held from 9:00 am until 11:00 am, followed by a Christian mass and military burial. Born June 27, 1939, Luis was a proud veteran of the United States Army and a retired CF Industries employee after 22 years of dedicated service.
He is survived by his two children, D’Lyn Bollinger (Craig), and Duane Luna (Gina); brother, Tony Luna (Martha); grandchildren, Taylor Bollinger, Austin Bollinger (Elise), Courtney Luna Richard (Chance), Carley Luna (Drew Hebert); great-grandchildren, Evelyn and Josie Richard; two expecting great-grandchildren, Baby Bollinger and Baby Hebert; step-grandchildren, Jacob Boyd (Stacy) and Shawn Boyd (Renee); and step-great-grandchildren, Bree Boyd, Reese Boyd, Hunter Ponvelle, Rylan Boyd, Cohen Boyd.
Luis was preceded in death by the mother of his children, Patsy Hebert Diez; parents, Jose and Olivia Ourso Luna; brothers, Jose Jr., Augustine, Frank, and Juan; sisters, Olivia Luna, Josephine Luna Marble and Luz Luna; and parents-in-law, Tobe and Doris Boudreaux Hebert.
Luis enjoyed dancing, traveling, going to casinos with his friends, attending his grandson’s baseball games and shopping with his daughter in-law Gina. He especially enjoyed spending time with his great granddaughters, Evelyn and Joise who would always ask, “Let’s go see Pa Pa Luis!” whenever they are at MeMe Gina and Pa Pa Duane’s house. Luis courageously battled dementia for the past six years and is now at peace reunited with his parents, brothers and sisters in eternal life. The family would like to extend special thanks to the critical care nurses at Thibodaux Regional Health System, the residents of Foley Avenue along with Adrienne Davis, Gale and Sullivan Williams, and the many others who provided Luis with loving in-home care.
