Louis was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, uncle, cousin, and friend. He was a proud graduate of St. James High School class of 1961. While in high school, he played football and his team won the State Championship in 1959. He served in the National Guard from 1961 until 1969. His most proud moments were watching his grandchildren swim and play baseball. He also enjoyed gardening and traveling.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory his wife of fifty nine years, Deanna Rodrigue Oubre; four children, Carmel Constant (John), Darnell Toups (Robert), Ryan Oubre (Susan), and Abby O. Clement; eleven grandchildren, Jonathan Constant, Alyssa Constant, Kelly Breaud (Chris), Jordy Toups (Abby), Tanner Toups (Courtney), Jacob Oubre, Isabella Oubre, MaryBeth Oubre, Dane Rodrigue, Summer Clement, and Karson Clement; two great grandchildren, Ryan and Jacob Toups; three siblings, Joyce Drew, John Oubre, and Donald Oubre, and numerous nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his grandson, Blake Oubre; parents, John and Lelia Oubre; six sisters, Mable Folse, Della Chenier, Mary Boudreaux, Grace Oubre, Ada Chenier, and Olivia Oubre.
Pallbearers will be his grandsons.
A visitation for Louis will be held on Saturday, September 23, 2023 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church in Vacherie, LA. Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 11 AM with an interment to follow in the church mausoleum.
