Luke Noel Giroir Jr.

Luke Noel Giroir, Jr., age 81, passed away peacefully on February 17, 2026, surrounded by his loving family and friends. A lifelong resident of Belle Rose, LA, Luke was devoted to his beloved wife of 59 years, Mary AnnaLyn Giroir. She was his whole world and soulmate. Above all else, Luke cherished his family.

He is survived by his son, Scott Giroir; his grandson and namesake, Luke A. Giroir; their family puppy, Ollie and his closest friends, Aubrey Cedotal, Jimmy Reagan, and Roger Reagan.

Luke was preceded in death by his daughter, Rachel Giroir Morris; his father, Luke Giroir, Sr.; and his mother, Beatrice Giroir.

A skilled carpenter by trade, Luke generously shared his remarkable talents with anyone in need, never expecting anything in return. He helped build many homes throughout the Donaldsonville area, leaving a legacy through his craftsmanship and kindness. His true passion was tending to his gardens, where he proudly grew and shared fresh vegetables with family, friends, and neighbors. He also took great pride in maintaining an immaculate lawn. Luke was a simple, kindhearted man who valued relationships over material things. Luke proudly served his country as a United States Navy Vietnam Veteran and was a faithful member of the Knights of Columbus.

Pallbearers will be Scott Giroir, Luke A. Giroir, Dennis Giroir, Eric Giroir, Aubrey Cedotal, Kevin Landry, and Roger Reagan. Honorary pallbearers will be Russell Poirrier, Rene Poirrier III, and Roy Giroir.

Services honoring Luke’s life will be held at Ourso’s Funeral Home in Donaldsonville on Sunday, February 22, 2026, from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., and will resume on Monday, February 23, 2026, from 9:00 a.m. until Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. at St. Jules Catholic Church in Belle Rose, LA. Burial to follow in the church cemetery.
