

Lynn Paul "Bootsie" Bouchereau, 83, passed away on Friday, February 18, 2011. He was a native and resident of Donaldsonville. He was a Veteran of the U.S. Navy during World War II. He earned his Bachelor's degree from the University of Southwestern Louisiana in Lafayette and his Master's Degree from Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge. He was an Ascension Parish school teacher, coach and elementary school principal for almost 30 years. His love for teaching and helping children touched many, many lives. He was past president of the Rotary Club and longtime member of the Knights of Columbus. His hobbies included hunting, fishing and in later years, woodworking. His true passion however was Bass fishing where he spent a major portion of his free time in the Atchafalaya Spillway, Toledo Bend and trips to Lake Guerrero, Mexico. He designed and made his own fishing lures and built and repaired many rods and reels. He was past President of the Sunshine Bass Club and a Founding Father of Winterfest.
He is survived by a daughter, Lori Bouchereau Templet and husband Kevin; three sons, Terry Bouchereau and wife Janelle, Paul Bouchereau and wife Karen, and Larry Bouchereau and wife Tina; Ten grandchildren Jason Templet, Scott Templet and wife Leah, Ted Bouchereau and wife Brandi, Todd Bouchereau and wife Rebecca, Toby, Ali Leah, Ross, Ryan, and Reid Bouchereau; and five great grandchildren Andon, Annabelle, and Alexander Templet and Haley
and Evan Bouchereau.
He is preceded in death by his wife June Glaubrecht Bouchereau; parents Paul Louis Bouchereau and Pearl Landry Bouchereau; and a grandson Chad Templet.
Pallbearers will be his grandsons.
Visitation will be held Monday, February 21, 2011 at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in
Smokebend from 8:00 am until Mass of Christian Burial at 11:30 am. Officiated by Rev. Phil
Spano. Entombment will follow in Ascension Catholic Mausoleum in Donaldsonville.
