

A loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend, Margaret Goodwin Carbo passed away on Thursday, February 2, 2017. She was 82 years old, a native of Addis and a resident of Brusly McCall. She was a member of the St. Francis of Assisi Ladies Altar Society and the Addis Historical Society. She loved watching her favorite soap opera, “Days of Our Lives”, listening to music, traveling, dancing, cooking, and bowling. She also enjoyed trips to the casino. Her signature catchphrase was, “ Laissez le bon temps rouler!”.
She is survived by her “Magnificent Seven” and their spouses; four daughters, Cynthia “Cindy” Bergeron (Bruce), Ellen Guillot, Linda Poulin (Chris), Margaret “Meg” Powell; three sons, Eric Carbo (Mary Lou), David Carbo, and William Carbo; one brother, William “Dub” Goodwin (Melba); two sisters-in-law, Jeanette Corbo, and Janice Goodwin; fourteen grandchildren, Erica (Jeremy), Leah (Nick), Elizabeth (Alexander), Paul, Laura (Russ), Katie (Chad), Luke, Erin (Mickey), Robyn (Dylan), David, Adam (Denia), Rachel, Michele, and Teresa.; fifteen great grandchildren, Lauren, Landon, Mary Claire, Sarah, Evelyn, Abram, Madalyn, Addisyn, Caleb, Ian, Lola, Tristan, Emilia, Waylon, and Benjamin, along with a host of nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents Wilma and William J. Goodwin, Sr., her loving husband of 56 years; Ronald Eugene Carbo, and her brother John Clifford Goodwin, Sr. The pallbearers will be Paul, Luke, Adam, Jeremy, Dylan, and Landon. The honorary pallbearers are Russ, Chad, Alexander, Nick, Mickey, Steve, Ian, Tristan, and Dave. The family would also like to give a special thanks to Amedisys Hospice for their care and compassion.
Visitation will be at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Brusly on Monday, February 6, 2017 from 10:00am until Mass of Christian Burial at 1:30pm. Burial to follow in Garden Crypt Mausoleum behind the church. Rev. Joe Vu will be officiating. In lieu of flowers, please donate to St. Jude’s Children Research Hospital.
