Margaret Diez Martinez

It is with heavy hearts and deep love that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend, Margaret Martinez on Friday, April 11, 2025 at the age of 90.

Born to the late Clara Martin and Anthony Diez, Margaret was a woman of great strength, quiet devotion, and endless love for her family. Her life was one of selfless care, grounded in the values of family, resilience and love.

Margaret will be remembered for her devotion to her family. She spoke her love not through words, but through the many ways she served and supported her loved ones. She created a home full of comfort, warmth, and unforgettable memories. Her legacy is stitched into the hearts of everyone she loved and we were all better for having been loved by her.

Left to cherish her memory are her loving children; Holly Castro (Sammy), Stephanie Vasquez (Manuel), Scott Martinez, and Toni Martinez (Gerald); her grandchildren, Tessa, Shannon, Shane, Brandon, Casey, Mandie, Masie, Kadiee, Brittney, Luke, Kandace, Kolby, and Mallory; great-grandchildren, Madison, Logan, Lathen, Kaylyn, Kollin, Brayden, Brysten, Maddox, Colton, John, Jaxton, Brianna, Owen, Lennox, Kai, Kora, Beaux, Theodore, John and Ruby; her dear siblings, Anthony, Mary, Barbara, and Janet along with many nieces and nephews who will continue to carry the light of her memory.

She was preceded in death by her devoted husband, Theodore Martinez; their beloved son, Theodore Martinez, Jr.; and her siblings, Odelle and Patricia.

The pallbearers and honorary pallbearers are: Scott, Shannon, Brandon, Shane, Luke, Kolby, Logan, Lathen, Brysten and Brayden.

A visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 16, 2025 from 9:00 am until the Mass of Christian Burial for 11:00 am at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Smoke Bend/Donaldsonville. Interment to follow in the church mausoleum. Father Matt Dupre will be officiating.
