

Margaret was a 1984 graduate of Ascension Catholic. She served in the Air Force for 14 years achieving the rank of Master Sergeant in Security Forces. She was awarded the AF Training Ribbon, National Defense Ribbon, Expert Marksmanship Rifle, and Good Conduct Medal. She was a VA Police Officer achieving the rank of Sergeant in New Orleans for 17+ years. She served in the training section as a Firearms Instructor and Defensive Tactics Instructor. She enjoyed her flower garden, traveling, photography, classic movies and was an avid music lover, especially attending Jazz Fest "Big Chief".
She was survived by her five siblings, Cynthia Bergeron (Bruce), Eric Carbo (Mary Lou), Ellen Guillot, David Carbo and Linda Poulin (Chris); her companion, Steve Powell; and her beloved dog, Josie; along with a host of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ronald and Margaret Carbo; and brother, William Carbo.
The family would like to give a special thanks to her longtime companion, Steve Powell for his love and support.
In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in her name to the WWII Museum in New Orleans.
A memorial visitation will be held on Friday, August 23, 2024 from 9:00 am until the Funeral Mass for 11:00 am at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Donaldsonville at Smoke Bend. Rev. Gregory J. Daigle will be officiating. A private burial will take place at Arlington National Cemetery at a later date.
