

Maria Cristina Espinosa, 91, a beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away on Saturday, Nov. 20, 2010, at St. Clare Manor in Baton Rouge. Maria Cristina was a patient, loving, caring wife and mother. She was a native of Santa Clara, Cuba, and lived in Baton Rouge for the past 35 years. She loved her grandchildren, foot massages, and Andes Mints. She was a woman who always gave of herself and never expected anything in return. We know she is watching over us while whistling in heaven wearing her heels and pearls!!! She is survived by her loving husband of 65 years, Oscar A. Espinosa; a daughter, Maria Cristina Fontenot and husband Daniel; four sons, Oscar G. Espinosa and wife Lorena, Esteban O. Espinosa and wife Miriam, Ronaldo F. Espinosa and wife Melanie, and Carlos O. Espinosa Sr. and wife Enelda; 11 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Juan Manuel and Maria Cristina Martinez; a sister, Hydee; three brothers, Jose Antonio, Juan Manuel, and Tulio. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, Nov. 24, at Ourso Funeral Home in Donaldsonville from 10 a.m. until 11:45 a.m. Memorial service will follow at noon at Ascension of Our Lord Catholic Church in Donaldsonville.
