Marianna Vinci Edwards

Marianna Vinci Edwards peacefully passed away at her home on September 1, 2024. She was surrounded by her loving family. Marianna was born in St. Francisville, Louisiana on February 11, 1941 and she was a resident of Donaldsonville, Louisiana at the time of her death. Those fortunate enough to have been part of her life knew her as a kind, caring and loving person who put the needs of others ahead of her own. Her faith in God and the Holy Family was strong.

Marianna is preceded in death by her parents, Samuel and Anna Mae Burnett Vinci and her in-laws, Theodore Glenn, Jr. and Geraldine Edwards. Surviving members of her family include her devoted husband of 64 years, Dr. T. G. “Doc” Edwards III, sons and spouses Theodore Glenn IV and Heather, Samuel Aubrey and Mia, and William Paul; grandchildren Shannon Hunt, Emily and husband Mickey Cheramie, Samuel and wife Katelyn Edwards, Griffin, William and Jenna Edwards and her six great-grandchildren Siddalie Orgeron, Addie and Harrison Hunt, Genevieve and Wallace Cheramie and Emma Grace Edwards. She is also survived by her sister Clara Muller and her nephew Richard Muller, Jr. and niece Lauren Muller Ventura Satterlee.

Visitation will begin at 10:30 a.m until a Mass of Christian Burial at noon on Wednesday September 4, 2024 at Ascension of Our Lord Catholic Church in Donaldsonville, LA. Burial to follow at the cemetery on the grounds of Grace Episcopal Church in St. Francisville, LA.

Pallbearers will be Samuel Edwards, Griffin Edwards, William Edwards, Mickey Cheramie, Chuck Griffin, Chad Blanchard, and Burt Grisaffe.

The Edwards Family would like to extend their sincere appreciation to Dr. Vince Cataldo and Dr. Carter Balart and all other caregivers, particularly Gwen Morris, Lois Sawyer and Nikki Meads who provided support and comfort for Marianna during her illness.

In lieu of flowers the family would appreciate donations to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
