Margie was a devoted wife of 71 years, and a proud mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Margie’s greatest joy was her family. A woman of deep faith, she was a devoted parishioner of St. Jules Catholic Church, where she found comfort and strength throughout her life. She cherished time spent with her daughters and loved to visit with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. One of her favorite pastimes was sewing, and she found great joy in teaching her daughters and granddaughters how to sew—sharing not just her skills, but also her patience, creativity, and love with every stitch. She lovingly hand-stitched many heirloom dresses for her daughters and grandchildren, and the family is blessed that her great-grandchildren continue to wear them today.
Margie also had a lifelong love of animals, especially her cats. She cared for them with the same gentleness, patience, and compassion she showed to her family and friends each day. Her quiet kindness and nurturing spirit extended to every living thing around her, and her home was always a place of warmth, comfort, and unconditional love.
Margie is survived by her four daughters: Marian Waguespack (Brian Calvit), Donna Donato (Michael Sr.), Sandy Player (John Sr.), and Cindy Hoover (David Sr.); seven grandchildren: Emily Ward (Corey), Alison Donato, David Hoover Jr., Michael Donato Jr. (Kayla), Amanda Manas (Daniel), Sarah Gibbons (Cody), and John Player Jr.; and seven great-grandchildren: Cooper Manas, Charlotte Manas, Emma Ward, Eloise Manas, Lillian “Lilly” Donato, Mason Gibbons, and Madeline “Maddie” Ward.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Wilson Waguespack; her parents, Edgar and Emma Waguespack; and her brother, Edgar Waguespack.
Family and friends are invited to attend a visitation at St. Jules Catholic Church in Belle Rose on Saturday, June 28, 2025, beginning at 9:00 a.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11:00 a.m. Marjorie will be laid to rest at Ascension Catholic Mausoleum.
