
Michael Louis "Mike" Blouin, a longtime resident of Bayou Sorrell, passed away Thursday, Dec. 30, 2010, at age 66. He was active in AA and sponsored several people over the years. He was an avid sportsman who loved the outdoors and to hunt and fish. He loved visiting with his friends and family. He was loved by all who had the privilege of knowing him. Mike never met a stranger. He served briefly in the Army and worked at both Spillway Sportsman and Bayou Baitshop for many years. He is survived by his children, daughter, Mikalyn Marie and husband Don Atkinson, son, Shane Paul and his wife, Carmen Blouin, and daughter, Thersa Lenise Clifton and her family; three grandsons, Joshua Boudreaux, William and Grant Blouin; brothers, Stanley and his wife, Debbie Blouin, Mark and his wife, Jill Blouin, Robert Blouin and Jimmy Blouin; as well as nieces, nephews, aunts and countless friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and a special friend, Ms. Ann Williams. Pallbearers will be Lance Blouin, Scott Blouin, Micha Blouin, Benji Blouin and Joshua Boudreaux. The family would like to express its deepest heartfelt gratitude to the staff and residents of the Port Allen Care Center for their kindness and care shown to Mike during the last few months of his life. Visitation at Ourso Funeral Home in Donaldsonville on Friday, Dec. 31, from 9 a.m. until religious service at noon, officiated by the Rev. Phil Spano. Interment will follow in Ascension of Our Lord Cemetery in Donaldsonville.
