

Rachel Giroir Morris, 41, a native and resident of Belle Rose passed away at 12:25 a.m., October 13, 2014 at Our Lady of the Lake Hospital in Baton Rouge. She was a homemaker. She is survived by her husband, Troy Morris; parents, Annalynn and Luke Giroir, Jr.; brother, Scott Giroir; second mom and dad, Margaret and Kent Morris, Sr.; two Godchildren, Luke A. Giroir and Seth Thibodaux; two brothers-in-law, Kent Morris, Jr. and wife Connie, and Eric Morris and wife Melinda; one sister-in-law, Becky Barbier; two nephews, Luke A. Giroir and Brad Morris; six nieces, Brooke Morris, Jennifer Aucoin, Jillian Barbier, Jessica Barbier, Michelle Montero, and Melanie Beck; two great nephews, Greyson Aucoin and Bentley Morris; two great nieces, Kynlee Barbier and Samantha Montero; her best friend, Tammy Folse, and the dogs, Lady, Lucy, and her cherished, Chole René.
Preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Dolores and Rene Poirrier, Jr. and paternal grandparents, Beatrice and Luke Giroir, Sr.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 15, 2014 at 5:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. and will resume on Thursday, October 16, 2014 at 8:00 a.m. – 10:30 a.m. at Ourso Funeral Home in Donaldsonville. Mass of Christian Burial to follow at St. Jules Catholic Church in Belle Rose at 11:00 a.m. with Fr. Andrew Merrick officiating. Interment to follow in church mausoleum.
Pallbearers will be Kent and Brad Morris, Dennis and Roy Giroir, Aubrey Cedotal, and Scott Giroir.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Tootie Glaviana, Byron and Rene Poirrier, III.
