Rickie Martin

Rickie Martin, 64, a longtime resident of Donaldsonville, Louisiana, passed away on July 30, 2026. He was born in Paincourtville, Louisiana, on May 4, 1962, to the late Joseph Martin and Delores Causin Anthony. Rickie graduated from Assumption High School in 1980.

Rickie married Karen Jarreau in February 1983, and they shared 35 years together. Though they later divorced, they remained connected through their children and grandchildren, of whom Rickie was incredibly proud.

Rickie had an undeniable love for his family, his community, and the outdoors. As a former city/parish employee, he touched many lives throughout the years and was blessed with many friendships. His passion for hunting led him to support Ducks Unlimited and its efforts to conserve the wetlands and marshes he enjoyed so much.

Rickie is survived by his children, Devin (Stefanie) Martin, Jesica Martin, and Bryce Martin; his grandsons, Ayden Ferchaud and Thomas “Alijah” Martin; and his siblings, Cheryl Santangelo, Melissa Alvarado, Paul Martin, Casey Martin, Joe Martin, and Christopher Martin.

He was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Payton Ferchaud; his brother, Joey Martin; his father, Joseph Martin and mother, Delores Causin Anthony.

Services honoring Rickie’s life will be held at Ourso Funeral Home in Donaldsonville on Sunday, August 9, 2026, beginning at 9:30 a.m.

In lieu of flowers, a monetary donation can be made to Ourso Funeral Home, Donaldsonville to help cover the funeral expenses.
