

Robert P. Guillot, 57, passed away peacefully in his sleep on Saturday, Sept. 10, 2011, at 11:24 p.m. after a valiant battle against cancer. He was a native of Baton Rouge and resident of Brusly McCall. Survived by his loving wife of 36 years, Ellen Carbo Guillot; two daughters, Erin Guillot and Robyn Guillot Bagwell; son-in-law, Dylan Bagwell; two brothers, L.J. Guillot and wife Gail, and Kenneth Guillot and wife Evelyn; sister, Lola Guillot LeBlanc and husband Mike; and numerous nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his parents, Lazard Joseph “Joe” Guillot and Elma LeBlanc Guillot; twin brother, Ronald Guillot; and niece, Kelli Guillot. He was a retired mechanic with Cooper T. Smith. An avid fisherman, gardener, NASCAR fan, LSU fan, and cook. A member of IOUE (International Union Operating Engineers) Local 406, River Road Bass Club and St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, Donaldsonville. Visitation at Ourso Funeral Home, Donaldsonville, on Tuesday, Sept. 13, from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m. and Wednesday from 8 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, Donaldsonville, at noon Wednesday, with the Rev. Paul Yi, celebrant. Entombment in church mausoleum. Pallbearers will be Dylan Bagwell, David Carbo, Brett LeBlanc, Brian Guillot, David Woods, and Mark Schexnayder.
